Tomorrow Is Never Promised!

I would like to share 'Tomorrow is never promised' with you.
We often overlook those who we love the most. This story reminds us to reach out others and live fullest each day.


One day a woman's husband died, and on that clear, cold morning, in the warmth of their bedroom, the wife was struck with the pain of learning that sometimes there isn't "anymore". No more hugs, no more special moments to celebrate together, no more phone calls just to chat, no more "just one minute." Sometimes, what we care about the most gets all used up and goes away, never to return before we can say good-bye, say "I love you."

So while we have it, it's best we love it, care for it, fix it when it's broken and heal it when it's sick. This is true for marriage.....And old cars... And children with bad report cards, and dogs with bad hips, and aging parents and grandparents. We keep them because they are worth it, because we are worth it.

Some things we keep -- like a best friend who moved away or a sister-in-law after divorce. There are just some things that make us happy, no matter what.

Life is important, like people we know who are special.. And so, we keep them close!

I received this from someone who thought I was a 'keeper'! Then I sent it to the people I think of in the same way... Now it's your turn to send this to all those people who are "keepers" in your life, including the person who sent it, if you feel that way. Suppose one morning you never wake up, do all your friends know you love them?

I was thinking...I could die today, tomorrow or next week, and I wondered if I had any wounds needing to be healed, friendships that needed rekindling or three words needing to be said.

Let every one of your friends know you love them. Even if you think they don't love you back, you would be amazed at what those three little words and a smile can do. And just in case I'm gone tomorrow.

Courageous Prayer

I received this by email and I thought it's very interesting and inspiring. I would like to share it with you.

This prayer was given at the opening session of the Kansas Senate.
It still stirs up some controversies to some people.

Courageous Prayer by Minister Joe Wright

Heavenly Father, we come before you today to ask your forgiveness and to seek your direction and guidance. We know Your Word says, 'Woe to those who call evil good,' but that is exactly what we have done.

We have lost our spiritual equilibrium and reversed our values.
We have exploited the poor and called it the lottery.
We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare...
We have killed our unborn and called it choice.
We have shot abortionists and called it justifiable.
We have neglected to discipline our children and called it building self esteem...
We have abused power and called it politics.
We have coveted our neighbor's possessions and called it ambition.
We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it freedom of expression.
We have ridiculed the time-honored values of our forefathers and called it enlightenment.
Search us, Oh, God, and know our hearts today; cleanse us from every sin and set us free.
Amen!

According to this email, 'the response was immediate. A number of legislators walked out during the prayer in protest. In 6 short weeks, Central Christian Church, where Rev. Wright is pastor, logged more than 5,000 phone calls with only 47 of those calls responding negatively... The church is now receiving international requests for copies of this prayer from Inida, Africa and Korea.

Commentator Paul Harvey aired this prayer on his raido program, 'The Rest of the Story,' and received a larger response to this program than any other he has ever aired.

With the Lord's help, may this prayer sweep over our nation and wholeheartedly become our desire so that we again can be called 'one nation under God.'

This email also says, 'If you don't stand for something, you will fall for everything.'

Friend's Email

A friend of mine who isn't a Christian sent me this email. She thought this explains so well about God. I thought that this story will help if any one is searching for an answer. I would like to share it with you too.


God's cake... This is one of the best I've ever read as an explanation.

Sometimes we wonder, 'What did I do to deserve this?' or 'Why did God have to do this to me?' Here is a wonderful explanation! A daughter is telling her Mother how everything is going wrong, she's failing algebra, her boyfriend broke up with her and her best friend is moving away.
Meanwhile, her Mother is baking a cake and asks her daughter if she would like a snack, and the daughter says, 'Absolutely Mom, I love your cake.'
'Here, have some cooking oil,' her Mother offers.
'Yuck' says her daughter.
'How about a couple raw eggs?' 'Gross, Mom!'
'Would you like some flour then? Or maybe baking soda?'
'Mom, those are all yucky!'
To which the mother replies: 'Yes , all those things seem bad all by themselves. But when they are put together in the right way, they make a wonderfully delicious cake! '
God works the same way. Many times we wonder why He would let us go through such bad and difficult times. But God knows that when He puts these things all in His order, they always work for good! We just have to trust Him and, eventually, they will all make something wonderful!
God is crazy about you. He sends you flowers every spring and a sunrise every morning. Whenever you want to talk, He'll listen. He can live anywhere in the universe, and He chose your heart.

Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we are here we might as well dance!

Three Trees

When you think things aren't going your way
Once there were three trees on a hill in the woods.
They were discussing their hopes and dreams when
The first tree said, 'Someday I hope to be a great
Treasure Chest. I could be filled with gold, silver
and precious gems. I could be decorated with an
intricate carving and everyone would see my beauty.'

Then the second tree said, 'Someday I will be a
Mighty Ship. I will take Kings and Queens across the
waters and sail to the corners of the world. People
will feel safe in me because of the strength of my
h ull .'

Finally the third tree said, 'I want to grow to be
the tallest and straightest Tree in the forest. People will see me on
top of the hill, look up to my branches, and think of the heavens and
God and how close to them I am reaching. I will be the greatest tree of
all time and people will always remember me.'

After a few years of praying that their dreams would come true, a group
of woodsmen came upon the trees.
When one came to the first tree he said, 'This looks like a strong tree,
I think I should be able to sell the wood to a carpenter, and he began
cutting it down. The tree was happy, because he knew the carpenter would
make him into a treasure chest.

At the second tree the woodsman said, 'This looks like a strong tree.
I will be able to sell it to the shipyard.'
The second tree was happy because he knew he was on his way to becoming
a mighty ship.

When the woodsmen came upon the third tree, the tree was frightened
because he knew that if they cut him down his dreams would not come
true. One of the men said, 'I don't need anything special from my tree,
I'll take this one,' and he cut it down.

When the first tree arrived at the carpenters, he was made into a feed
box for animals. He was then placed in a barn and filled with hay. This
was not at all what he had prayed for.

The second tree was cut and made into a small fishing boat. His dreams
of being a mighty ship and carrying Kings had come to an end.

The third tree was cut into large pieces, and left alone in the dark.

The years went by, and the trees forgot about their dreams.

Then one day, a man and woman came to the barn. She gave birth and they
placed the baby in the hay in the feed box that was made from the first
tree. The man wished that he could have made a crib for the baby, but
this manger would have to do. The tree could feel the importance of
this event and knew that it had held the greatest treasure of all time.

Years later, a group of men got in the fishing boat made from the second
tree. One of them was tired and went to sleep. While they were out on
the water, a great storm arose and the tree didn't think it was strong
enough to keep the men safe. The men woke the sleeping man, and he stood
and said 'Peace' and the storm stopped. At this time, the tree knew
that it had carried the King of Kings in its boat.

Finally, someone came and got the third tree. It was carried through
the streets as the people mocked the man who was carrying it. When they
came to a stop, the man was nailed to the tree and raised in the air to
die at the top of a hill. When Sunday came, the tree came to realize
that it was strong enough to stand at the top of the hill and be as
close to God as was possible, because Jesus had been crucified on it.

The moral of this story is that when things don't seem to be going your
way, always know that God has a plan for you. If you place your trust in
Him, God will give you great gifts.

Each of the trees got what they wanted, just not in the way they had
imagined.

We don't always know what God's plans are for us. We just know that His
ways are not our ways, but His ways are always best.

Please keep this moving....... Pass it on, so God may inspire more
people on the way.

The Legend of the Cherokee Indian Youth's Rite of Passage

I received the following story by email. I thought that we all can learn from the moral of the story as one said, "Just because you can't see God, doesn't mean He is not there."

Do you know the legend of the
Cherokee Indian youth's rite of Passage?

His father takes him into the forest, blindfolds him
and leaves him alone. He is required to sit on a stump
the whole night and not remove the blindfold until
the rays of the morning sun shine through it. He
cannot cry out for help to anyone.

Once he survives the night, he is a MAN.

He cannot tell the other boys of this
experience, because each lad must come
into manhood on his own.

The boy is naturally terrified. He can hear all
kinds of noises. Wild beasts must surely be
all around him. Maybe even some human
might do him harm. The wind blew the
grass and earth, and shook his stump, but
he sat stoically, never removing the blindfold.
It would be the only way he could become
a man!

Finally, after a horrific night the sun appeared
and he removed his blindfold.
Once he survives the night, he is a MAN.

He cannot tell the other boys of this
experience, because each lad must come
into manhood on his own.

The boy is naturally terrified. He can hear all
kinds of noises. Wild beasts must surely be
all around him. Maybe even some human
might do him harm. The wind blew the
grass and earth, and shook his stump, but
he sat stoically, never removing the blindfold.
It would be the only way he could become
a man!

Finally, after a horrific night the sun appeared
and he removed his blindfold.

It was then that he discovered his father sitting
on the stump next to him.

He had been at watch the entire night, protecting
his son from harm..

We, too, are never alone.

Even when we don't know it, God is watching
over us, sitting on the stump beside us.

When trouble comes, all we have to do is reach
out to Him.

"For we walk by faith, not by sight."

Thanksgiving Prayer

SPECIAL GROCERY LIST
From a friend's email

Louise Redden, a poorly dressed lady with a look of defeat on her
face, walked into a grocery store.

She approached the owner of the store in a most humble manner and
asked if he would let her charge a few groceries.

She softly explained that her husband was very ill and unable to
work, they had seven children and they needed food.

John Longhouse, the grocer, scoffed at her and requested that she
leave his store at once.

Visualizing the family needs, she said: 'Please, sir! I will bring
you the money just as soon as I can.'

John told her he could not give her credit, since she did not have a
charge account at his store.

Standing beside the counter was a customer who overheard the
conversation between the two. The customer walked forward and told
the grocer that he would stand good for whatever she needed for her
family. The grocer said in a very reluctant voice, 'Do you have a
grocery list?'

Louise replied, 'Yes sir.' 'O.K' he said, 'put your grocery list on
the scales and whatever your grocery list weighs, I will give you
that amount in groceries..'

Louise hesitated a moment with a bowed head, then she reached into
her purse and took out a piece of paper and scribbled something on
it. She then laid the piece of paper on the scale carefully with her
head still bowed.

The eyes of the grocer and the customer showed amazement when the
scales went down and stayed down.

The grocer, staring at the scales, turned slowly to the customer and
said begrudgingly, 'I can't believe it.'

The customer smiled and the grocer started putting the groceries on
the other side of the scales. The scale did not balance so he
continued to put more and more groceries on them until the scales
would hold no more.

The grocer stood there in utter disgust. Finally, he grabbed the
piece of paper from the scales and looked at it with greater amazement.

It was not a grocery list, it was a prayer, which said:

'Dear Lord, you know my needs and I am leaving this in your hands.'

The grocer gave her the groceries that he had
gathered and stood in stunned silence.

Louise thanked him and left the store. The other customer handed a
fifty-dollar bill to the grocer and said; 'It was worth every penny
of it. Only God Knows how much a prayer weighs.'

THE POWER: When you receive this, say a prayer. That's all you have
to do.

Just stop right now, and say a prayer of thanks for your own good
fortune. Then please send this to all your friends and relatives.

I believe if you will send this testimony out with prayer in faith,
you will receive what you need God to do in your and your families'
life .

So dear heart, trust God to heal the sick, provide food for the
hungry, clothes and shelter for those that don't have as we do.. Amen
& Amen

A woman's Wisdom

Don't break the elastic!
In April, Maya Angelou was interviewed by Oprah on her 70+ birthday. Oprah asked her what she thought of growing older.
And, there on television, she said it was “exciting.”
Regarding body changes, she said there were many, occurring every day.....like her breasts. They seem to be in a race to see which will reach her waist, first.

The audience laughed so hard they cried. She is such a simple and honest woman, with so much wisdom in her words!

Maya Angelou said this:
“I've learned that no matter what happens, or how bad it seems today, life does go on, and it will be better tomorrow.”

“I've learned that you can tell a lot about a person by the way he/she handles these three things: a rainy day, lost luggage, and tangled Christmas tree lights.”

“I've learned that regardless of your relationship with your parents, you'll miss them when they're gone from your life.”

“I've learned that making a 'living' is not the same thing as making a life.”

“I've learned that life sometimes gives you a second chance.”

“I've learned that you shouldn't go through life with a catcher's mitt on both hands; you need to be able to throw some things back.”


“I've learned that whenever I decide something with an open heart, I usually make the right decision.”


“I've learned that even when I have pains, I don't have to be one.”
